Silent Nights (poem)

I can still hear your voice
Still feel your embrace
And sometimes when I close my eyes
I can still see your face
When the night has become its darkest
When the sounds of the day fall on deaf ears
You come out of the darkness
Breathing life back into my fears
You are the monster face of who I was
The representation of my darkest heart
Unchecked depravity with a pretty smile
Visible proof of a silent woman falling apart
And as the light shatters dark to start a new day
You are swallowed back into night
Your voice goes silent till dark returns
And the darkest silence returns your sight
